modesty.

"The bottom line. . .is this: If we desire the companionship of the Holy Ghost, we must invite it by dressing modestly. If we desire a temple marriage, we must prepare now by dressing modestly. If we truly consider our body to be a temple of God, we must show our appreciation for this precious gift by dressing modestly. If we desire to honor the priesthood of God and those who hold that priesthood, we must dress modestly. And though we have discussed mostly outward appearance. . .we need to remember that modesty encompasses much, much more. It involves the mind, the body, the heart, thought, language, dress, and behavior. It is an identifying characteristic of who we are. Modesty is truly about reverencing womanhood." - Sister Susan K. Bednar "Reverencing Womanhood"

what better advice.
especially for those of
us who want nothing more
than to be worthy to attend
the temple.
and soon at that.

dear fall break.

At first I thought boo you for coming when you did.
For not coming a week earlier so that I could have spent it with him.
but then I realized that even though it sucked to come home just hours after he went in
I'm glad that I get to be home.
That I can cry while sitting at my kitchen table and not worry that I'm bugging people.
That I can have my parents to talk to me about it and to tell me it's okay.
And that I can have the temple up the hill to go to.
That I can not have that homesick feeling on top of it all.
And that I can feel loved and have my meals made for me.
Just for a few days so that I can get in control of my emotions again.
That my sister and I can go on a bike ride to the post office to deliver my very first letter.
And that two of my very favorite people on this earth could find me there
and give me flowers. and make my day by being there for me.
That I can send a cute little package while I'm here.
And hope that maybe it will make things a little easier for him.
Because I'm glad that being here makes it easier for me to deal with it all.
Where I know that I can be myself and where I can feel the spirit.

So, thank you fall break for coming when you did.

I know everything's happening to me just the way it's supposed to.

Love, J.

Today Samuel, Molly, Ang and I all went to the temple together.
It was wonderful :)
It's a cool feeling when you get to feel the special spirit in the temple with those that you're going to spend forever with.

Day 4-8

Day 4
My sister will probably be the only one who knows what this is.. It's fine :)
It's our quote books.

Day 5
Ang was sick this day and the flash was extra bright
Day 6
Michael and I actually accomplished a lot this day. We did homework, took his little brothers to the gas station, watched Tangled, and played x-box. :)
Day 7
This is Ang and Alyssa. I think they're cute :) We were on our way to the temple (why they're in church clothes.)
Day 8
This is today. I left to my sisters after school for the weekend but we went and got Maceys ice cream cones before I left because call us dumb but we kind of didn't want to say goodbye.

Love. J.
