love to me is listening.
it's keeping your mouth shut sometimes.
it's keeping the candy jar full.
it's waiting for hours for someone who said they wouldn't be that long.
it's sacrifice.
it's spending money on others.
it's roommate birthday lunches.
it's last days together.
it's spending time apart.
(even on the one day a year you and your best friend hug.)
it's preparing.
it's long talks.
it's giving a "like"
and it's making new friends.
it's being you even when you know others are judging you.
it's support through everything.
it's praying together.
this year love means more to me than it did last year because i went through different things and i saw people love in new and bigger ways.
i saw more of what the Savior needed me to see
and that opened my mind and it opened my heart.
it helped show me more of all the different kind of loves that are out there.
"Christmas is what we make of it. Despite all of the distractions, we can see to it that Christ is at the center of our celebration." - Thomas S. Monson
it's made of feelings that i've never felt before.
of sadness and happiness all at the same time.
and of the unknown and the known.
it's little blessings and big ones.
and years spent together.
and years spent apart.
it's made of love and friendships.
and of knowing that today is the day
that changes the rest of my life.
I started thinking about what my twenty twelve goals are going to be today.
that's weird. 2011 is almost over.
but I kind of like it.
This year was hard.
The hardest that I've had so far.
and I'm excited for the fresh new start.
to be a new me.
and you know what?
i'm going to start today.
because today is december 1.
and I can do whatever I want.
also,
17 more days until we're all together again.
and I honestly can't wait.
It gives me happy butterflies in my stomach thinking about it.
I can't wait to be home.
to have no homework.
to sleep in my own bed.
and to wake up to my family.
or to those two girls.
because we're having more black sweat sleepovers.
i'm sure of it.
here's to december.
a month of snow.
and of christmas spirit.
i love it already.
At first I thought boo you for coming when you did.
For not coming a week earlier so that I could have spent it with him.
but then I realized that even though it sucked to come home just hours after he went in
I'm glad that I get to be home.
That I can cry while sitting at my kitchen table and not worry that I'm bugging people.
That I can have my parents to talk to me about it and to tell me it's okay.
And that I can have the temple up the hill to go to.
That I can not have that homesick feeling on top of it all.
And that I can feel loved and have my meals made for me.
Just for a few days so that I can get in control of my emotions again.
That my sister and I can go on a bike ride to the post office to deliver my very first letter.
And that two of my very favorite people on this earth could find me there
and give me flowers. and make my day by being there for me.
That I can send a cute little package while I'm here.
And hope that maybe it will make things a little easier for him.
Because I'm glad that being here makes it easier for me to deal with it all.
Where I know that I can be myself and where I can feel the spirit.
So, thank you fall break for coming when you did.
I know everything's happening to me just the way it's supposed to.
Whenever this world gets the best of me
And it all goes wrong
I count down the hours till the time we meet
And I move along
'Cause I know that when I see you I will be
Happy as the sun, lighter than a feather
Walking on the clouds when we are together
Every day with you just keeps getting better
The world's as it should be, when are you here with me
Here with me
Whenever you leave, my heart skips a beat
Like it knows you're gone
Unless you are here, I am incomplete
Of an undone song
Only you inspire the melody in me
Happy as the sun, lighter than a feather
Walking on the clouds when we are together
Every day with you just keeps getting better
The world's as it should be, when are you here
How could I go wrong
When you are here with me
How could I be anything but smiling
I'm happy as the sun, lighter than a feather
Walking on the clouds when we are together
Every day with you just keeps getting better
The world's as it should be, when are you here
Happy as the sun, lighter than a feather
Walking on the clouds when we are together
Every day with you just keeps getting better
The world's as it should be, when you are here with me
The world's as it should be
When you are here,
- Tyrone Wells

p.s. Thanks jenna for the idea of the youtube video with the lyrics. I always have to pull up the song when I look at the lyrics so that works perfect. You're great :)
As I came home yesterday I saw a couple slowing taking a walk in the rain.
(Without an umbrella.)
It was inspiring I thought.
A little adventurous.
And quite adorable.
I may have to try it sometime.
Happy Memorial Day.
Make it a good one.
It's the last day off of High School we'll ever have.
(If you're a senior of course. If not. Still make it a good one.)
Love, J.
P.S. Please forgive my obsession with blogging every single day this month. I tried to post every day in May and it most likely will never happen again.
Thank you for having family scripture study and prayer everyday.
Thank you for having Family Home Evening every week, even when we're all arguing.
You've taught me how important these things are now and how important they'll be in my future home.
Thank you for being hard workers.
Thank you for serving others whenever you get the chance.
Thank you for serving me.
Thank you for always stopping what you're doing to help me with my problems.
Thank you for teaching me not to complain and to love the church.
Thank you for fulfilling your callings beyond what they ask.
You've taught me through your example how to manage my money.
How to stay organized and be responsible.
Thank you for always encouraging me in my dreams.
You've taught me how to be supportive of those that I love.
and you've taught me that when I follow the spirit, I'll always be okay. You are my biggest blessings. and I'm eternally grateful for everything that you do for me. Thank you for teaching me through your example what good parents should be like. I love you.
There's a page in my scrapbook that I wrote that day (spelling errors and all) so that I could remember all about it. It says,
"I was nerves. A lot of people said congradulations! I was happy. It was freezing cold when I got out. The water was warm. My hair was in braids. DEEP WATER!!!! My Aunt Susan did my hair. My Aunt Peggy, Susan, Jolene and Delaine were there. My Uncle Boyd, George were there. My Grandpa and Grandma were there too. My cousins Nathan, Aaron, Devyn, Derek, Dallin, Tiffany, Mark, Joseph, Micheal were there. My family Mom, Dad, Samuel, Molly, and Andrew were there too!!! My Dad baptised me!"
Oh, to be 8 again.
What a great thing though.
That we can be baptized.
That it washes away all of our sins.
The Savior makes all things possible in my life.
And I am forever grateful to Him.
I love Him.
And I know that He loves me.
Happy Cinco de Mayo people.
Love, J
P.S. My cousin Micheal, that attended my baptism, has since passed away. So, sometimes it's good to go back and look at old scrapbooks and see pictures of people you can't be around anymore and remember that they were there at special times in your life and that one day you'll get to be with them again. :)
