so when you're thinking that life kind of sucks
because everyone went to richfield without you
and then at your training the stake president looks
right at you and says, "your time sacrificed in this
calling will be made up socially, in your school
work, and in all aspects of your life."
i don't think it was a coincidence.

cinco de mayo
Ten years ago today I was getting baptized.
There's a page in my scrapbook that I wrote that day (spelling errors and all) so that I could remember all about it. It says,
Oh, to be 8 again.
What a great thing though.
That we can be baptized.
That it washes away all of our sins.
The Savior makes all things possible in my life.
And I am forever grateful to Him.
I love Him.
And I know that He loves me.
Happy Cinco de Mayo people.
Love, J
P.S. My cousin Micheal, that attended my baptism, has since passed away. So, sometimes it's good to go back and look at old scrapbooks and see pictures of people you can't be around anymore and remember that they were there at special times in your life and that one day you'll get to be with them again. :)

"I was nerves. A lot of people said congradulations! I was happy. It was freezing cold when I got out. The water was warm. My hair was in braids. DEEP WATER!!!! My Aunt Susan did my hair. My Aunt Peggy, Susan, Jolene and Delaine were there. My Uncle Boyd, George were there. My Grandpa and Grandma were there too. My cousins Nathan, Aaron, Devyn, Derek, Dallin, Tiffany, Mark, Joseph, Micheal were there. My family Mom, Dad, Samuel, Molly, and Andrew were there too!!! My Dad baptised me!"

frances monson.
Today in seminary we watched the beginning of the biography of President Monson.
SO SO cool! I almost cried a little and it made me just plain want to be a better person.
I was so impressed with his wife, Frances Monson, though.
She is such a good wife.
So supportive and you can tell they just love each other so much.
She knows that every calling that President Monson has received is from God and she's willing to "go and do" and trust in God right along side President Monson.
Such a wonderful lady.
I hope that one day I can be as good as a wife as she is to President Monson.

baptisms.
Today I had the opportunity to go to a baptism for a girl in my ward. I don' t really know her that well but I felt like I needed to be there. I kind of thought that I was having those feelings because I needed to be there to support her but in the end, as usual, it was for me. I hadn't been to a baptism in soo long. I think the last one I went to was Laura's little sister's baptism. I forgot how strong the spirit is there. The sacredness of what's happening. I got to hear talks on the importance of what was happening and of the Savior by some of my Young Women leaders. They're amazing. We recently got a new Young Womens Presidency and it's unbelievable how much they've already changed my life. I have so many great examples around me. I'm thankful for the willingness of all of them to sacrifice for me. I'm grateful for Chelsea and her willingness and choice to get baptized. I know without a doubt that she made the right decision. I think it would be so hard to have to make that decision now. I hope that if I wouldn't have grown up in the church that I would be as strong as her. That I would make the choice to become a member of the church. I know that the gospel is true and I don't know where I would be without it. Thank you Chelsea for reminding me of the opportunity that I have to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to not take it for granted because it really does bless my life every single day.
